On Sunday, Oct. 27, and Saturday, Nov. 9, Bossier Sheriff’s Office deputies and National Wild Turkey Federation members sponsored a deer hunt-off of Old Plain Dealing Road near the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Training Academy.
The North Louisiana Wheelin Sports Deer Hunt was held to give physically challenged hunters an opportunity to hunt in Bossier Parish. Sheriff deputies Lt. Billy Jones, Bradley Virgillito, Reagan Malmay, and Jody Jones said they were humbled by the experience of helping the hunters, watching them fire their weapons, and harvest some wild game. Seven hunters participated in the hunt and harvested four deer for the day’s event.
Several Wheelin Sports volunteers also attended the event to help the hunt run smoothly because of their love of the sport.
