Shuffle delayed, but inevitable as Week 10 looms

JOURNAL STAFF

Seven of the top 8 eight teams in the Shreveport Bossier Journal’s Weekly Top 10 poll all won last week, so there’s not a whole lot of movement as the final week of the regular season approaches.

Calvary and Byrd switched places in the 3-4 spots — Byrd was the lone team in the top eight to lose last week, bowing 35-21 to unbeaten AIrline — and the rest stayed the same.

Booker T. Washington, a 48-35 winner over Southwood, got back into the poll at No. 10.

Big games abound this week when it comes to Top 10 matchups. In District 1-5A, No. 6 Huntington will play No. 1 Airline at Independence Stadium, No. 7 Captain Shreve and No, 4 Byrd will meet at Lee Hedges Stadium and No. 8 Evangel will play at No. 2 Parkway.

In 1-4A, No. 9 Loyola will be at Jerry Burton Stadium to play No. 5 Northwood.

All of those games are on Thursday night.
