
The submission deadline for the Art in the Park event has been extended to October 22, 2024, giving artists more time to apply and showcase their nature-themed artwork at the Parish’s annual outdoor event.
Art in the Park will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 12pm to 4pm at Richard Fleming Park, 7919 W. Lakeshore Dr., Shreveport, LA. The event is free and open to the public.

Artists are invited to explore and celebrate the beauty of nature through their work, aligning with the event’s nature-focused theme. Applications must be received by October 22 to be considered. Spaces are limited, so early submissions are encouraged.
“We are excited to extend the deadline and invite more artists to share their works inspired by the beauty of nature,” said Anne Lutz, Caddo Parish Education Coordinator at Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park. “Art in the Park provides a unique opportunity to connect with art lovers and the community while celebrating the natural world in a beautiful outdoor setting,” said Lutz.
Community partners offering hands on activities include Sci-Port Discovery Center, Shreve Memorial Library, Renzi Art Center, WERLA, Girl Scouts Pines to the Gulf and SRAC.
Food Trucks on site include Larry P’s Boiling Pot, Corn Dog Queens, Critter’s Corral, T&T Italian Ice Cream and Keto Cravings Snacks.
