Magnolia School of Excellence will play its sixth football season in the LHSAA and first in District 1-2A this fall after moving up from 1-1A.

The Mariners’ schedule is made up of present and former 1-1A opponents (three) as well as their 1-2A slate with just two home games.

They will open the season at home against old 1-1A foe Glenbrook at home. The Apaches have won all three games between the teams since joining the LHSAA in 2021.

Magnolia then takes to the road to Grambling to play Lincoln Prep, a former 1-1A opponent.

After an off week, a trip to Vivian brings the Mariners to North Caddo for their first game in 1-2A and first ever with the Titans.

An in-town trek to Calvary is the mid-season matchup for Magnolia. The two schools last played in 2019-20 when the Cavaliers were members of 1-1A.

The only other home game has D’Arbonne Woods coming to town. It is a 1-2A matchup and first-ever meeting of the schools.

A non-district game at longtime 1-1A foe Ringgold is next. The Mariners have won four of the five meetings.

A trek to Homer is a 1-2A game that had been a 1-1A battle the past five seasons.

Another matchup of new to 1-2A teams has the Mariners driving to Farmerville to face Union Parish. The Farmers are dropping down after winning a state title last December.

The regular-season finale is a 1-2A battle that has Magnolia playing Green Oaks at Northwood. The Giants are the fourth first-time opponent on the season for the Mariners.
