Plain Dealing, like most every school in the area, has some new opponents on its 2024 football schedule.
The Lions replaced almost half of their schedule with four new opponents, two in District 1-1A.
Tensas comes to Plain Dealing in a non-district season opener. PD has won all four meetings with the last game played in 2019.
Plain Dealing is then on the road to Ringgold. The Redskins are still in 1-1A but will not be eligible for district honors. The Lions lead the series 21-6 with the Redskins.
Another road trip follows, this one just south of Minden to face Lakeside in a non-district battle.
Haynesville will travel to Plain Dealing for a 1-1A game. The Tornado have lost just once in 41 games against the Lions.
Glenbrook visits Plain Dealing for a mid-season matchup. The Apaches have won all three in the series since joining the LHSAA in 2021.
Cedar Creek, a newcomer to 1-1A, will make the drive from Ruston for the 14th game in the series it leads 10-3.
A trip to Arcadia is on tap for Week 7. The Lions lead one of the longest running series of area teams, 34-28.
Plain Dealing is on the road a second consecutive week to Jonesboro-Hodge, another newcomer to 1-1A for 2024. JHHS holds a 9-2 series advantage.
The last home game of the regular season will have Lincoln Prep make the drive from Grambling.
In the regular season finale, Plain Dealing on the road south of Leesville to Pickering for a first-ever meeting of the schools.
The Lions come into the season looking to snap a 25-game losing skid.
