Caddo Parish Sheriff Jay Long kicked off Shreveport Dixie Baseball’s opening ceremony by throwing the first pitch of the 2024 season. Caddo deputies Ty King and Mike King received the Jeremy Tynes Spirit Award for their outstanding volunteer work. They are coaching four teams in the league this year and devoted a significant amount of time to this cause.
Shreveport Dixie Baseball is a non-profit organization comprised of parents, coaches, and friends who work together to provide one of the best youth baseball organizations and complexes in the state of Louisiana. Currently, they have 42 teams participating in their league. The Jeremy Tynes Spirit Award is given to those who have gone above and beyond in their service to the organization.
