On March 14, the Shreveport Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious individual in the 900 block of Caddo Street around 5:47 p.m. Officers encountered Jerlarance Clayton, 34, who was discovered to be in possession of a firearm and multiple types of narcotics.

Clayton, a convicted felon, has been charged with possession of schedule two substances, possession with intent to distribute schedule one substances, and felon in possession of a firearm.

The arrest was made possible thanks to the vigilant residents who reported the suspicious behavior, allowing the Shreveport Police Department to take appropriate action.
