Six of the seven boys basketball teams active in the opening round from Shreveport-Bossier were bounced out of the LHSAA playoffs Friday night.
Sixth-ranked Bossier doubled up, eliminating Ellender 62-36 from the Non-Select Division II bracket to become the sole local survivor. The Bearkats will host No. 11 Opelousas Tuesday.
Three local Select schools had first-round byes and will host second-round games. Division I No. 3 Captain Shreve will host No. 14 McKinley and No. 6 Southwood takes on No. 11 Brother Martin. In Division III, No. 4 Calvary will play No. 13 Episcopal.
