Bossier Parish Community College had upset on its mind Wednesday night at the Billy Montgomery Gym when it hosted Region XIV leader Panola, taking a 62-61 lead into the final 3:15, but couldn’t make the key plays down the stretch in falling 67-64 to the Ponies.

Panola guard Christian Henry hit a pair of free throws to put the Ponies back in front 63-62 with 3:05 left and Jaiden Lawrence turned an offensive rebound put-back into a 65-62 advantage with just over two minutes to go.

Braylan McNeal got the Cavs within 65-64 with 30 seconds but Henry hit two more freebies with 13 seconds left for a 67-64 lead. McNeal had one last-second chance but was off the mark on a 3-pointer with two seconds remaining.

Henry led all scorers for Panola (22-5, 13-3) with 38 points, hitting six 3-point goals and all six free throws.

McNeal was tops for BPCC (11-15, 4-11) with 20 points and Jayden Battle had 12.

Bossier Parish is on the road at Tyle Junior College Saturday.
