The Bossier Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with various local organizations and generous individuals, orchestrated a heartwarming initiative titled Operation Christmas Wish. On the morning of December 22, deputies and Posse members set out across Bossier Parish, reaching out to 273 children and 101 families in need.
This endeavor aimed to brighten the holiday season for those who might have otherwise faced a less festive Christmas. Through donations pouring in from multiple sources, including Vicki’s School of Dance, Bossier Parish Schools 4-H Clubs, Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 141, BPCC Student Government, and numerous individuals, the effort came to fruition.
The donations, comprising toys and cash, played a pivotal role in making this festive season special for the boys and girls of Bossier Parish. Deputies and Posse members diligently loaded up toys and bicycles, delivering them to households throughout the parish. Santa Claus himself made surprise visits to spread holiday cheer and extend warm Christmas wishes to the children.
Acknowledging the pivotal role of contributors, Sheriff Julian Whittington expressed deep gratitude to the residents of the parish. “We are grateful for the residents in our parish who have dug into their pockets and have donated either toys or money to help Operation Christmas Wish be a blessing to children in need in our parish,” shared Sheriff Whittington. He further added, “People with generous hearts have given so that others may also experience a wonderful Christmas, and I can’t thank them enough.”
The Ladies Auxiliary, instrumental in preparing the packages of gifts for delivery, received special mention and appreciation for their dedicated efforts.
The success of Operation Christmas Wish was a testament to the generosity and community spirit prevalent in Bossier Parish. Through collective efforts and heartfelt donations, the Bossier Sheriff’s Office succeeded in spreading joy and ensuring a brighter Christmas for numerous families and children across the parish.
