
In the early hours of November 28, Caddo sheriff’s deputies aided a stolen vehicle pursuit initiated by Miller County Sheriff’s Office. The pursuit led to Caddo Parish, where the vehicle was intercepted on Interstate 49 near Mira Myrtis Road. The occupants fled on foot into a nearby wooded area to evade capture.
Later that morning, near the intersection of Christian Street and Highway 71 in Hosston, a group of four individuals approached a 63-year-old man. One brandished a gun, attempting to take the man’s vehicle, but the man managed to drive away unharmed.
Following investigation, Detective Matthew Purgerson discovered that one suspect was an escapee from the Office of Juvenile Justice facility in Baton Rouge. This suspect was apprehended at a Shreveport apartment complex on December 12 with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force and Shreveport Police. The juvenile faces charges of Attempted Carjacking and Illegal Possession of Stolen Property, brought by Detectives Purgerson and Vincent Jackson.
The investigation remains ongoing.
