Caddo deputies place at Voodoo on the Bayou competition

The Louisiana State Police hosted the annual Voodoo on the Bayou 3 Gun Competition for active military and law enforcement on Oct. 16. All Louisiana POST certified officers who participate are credited with yearly in-service firearms training hours.

Congratulations to Caddo Deputies Michael Rocco and Adam Jones for their outstanding performance. Deputy Rocco took 1st place in the Tactical Optics Division, and Deputy Jones finished 2nd in the Patrol Division. Honorable mention to Chief Deputy Jay Long, who finished in 6th place; Deputy Justin Dunn, 7th place; and Sgt. James Norwood, 11th place, all in the Patrol Division.

Seventy-four (74) competitors from Louisiana, neighboring states, and active military competed in the Tactical Optics and Patrol divisions. Courses of fire consisted of long-range and precision rifle accuracy, room clearing, shoot-no shoot scenarios, handgun and shotgun marksmanship, and shooting on the move. The competition also included an hour of instruction from World Record holder and Sig Sauer representative Max Michel, a Louisiana native.
