Huntington seems to be peaking at the right time, hitting on all cylinders in last Friday’s 44-0 takedown of a solid Woodlawn team.
Good thing, considering the Raiders now play host to the reigning 1-4A champions.
Coming off an intense 38-28 victory last Friday at Evangel, North DeSoto (6-1, 4-0) is coming to Independence Stadium to face Huntington (5-2, 3-1).
It’s one of the top matchups in Week 8 of the local high school football season. Another also puts the winner in command of a district race.
Calvary and D’Arbonne Woods, a couple of undefeated District 1-2A state Top 10 ranked teams, face off Friday at Jerry Barker Stadium in a key district matchup.
The Cavaliers are the No. 1 ranked team in the LSWA’s state poll of 2A teams with a 7-0 overall record and 2-0 in 1-2A while the Timberwolves, ranked No. 10, carry marks of 6-0, 2-0 into Friday’s game.
