Natchitoches Central begins a new era under highly-successful head coach Jess Curtis tonight when it travels to Shreveport to take on Woodlawn.
Optimism is high for the Chiefs with Curtis taking over the program after leading Many High School to three state championships and a 149-26 mark over 13 seasons. Natchitoches Central has had only one winning season (2021) since 2013 and competes in the tough District 1-5A.
Woodlawn is led by third-year coach Thedrick Harris, who is also working hard at bringing back some swagger to the Castle on Wyngate. Jerwin Wilson led the Knights to three straight winning seasons (2015-2017) but those are the only winning seasons since 1995.
