Local high school football teams will finally get a chance to hit somebody other than a teammate on Thursday, the first day LHSAA schools are allowed to scrimmage against other teams.

Benton, Haughton, Northwood, Parkway and Bossier will all host area teams Thursday. Benton will entertain Minden, North DeSoto will go to Haughton, Northwood will host Captain Shreve,  Parkway takes on Ouachita and Bossier and Red River mix it up. Evangel will be on the road to Sterlington and Calvary travels to Ruston to face Ouachita Christian. 

Friday’s lineup has Airline and Huntington playing at Independence Stadium, Loyola hosting Haynesville, Plain Dealing coming to Magnolia Charter, Wodlawn faces Green Oaks and North Caddo welcomes Lakeview and Southwood to Vivian.  Byrd travels to Ruston and BTW to Jonesboro-Hodge. 

Coaches use scrimmages to evaluate players at different positions to get a better idea of where they may be more effective in their scheme.
