Captain Shreve’s 2023 football schedule has the Gators playing seven of their 10 games at Lee Hedges Stadium, starting the season with five straight at their home venue.  

The Gators begin the slate like all District 1-5A teams with three non-district games. Two are against Shreveport private schools and the other is against one of only two schools outside of Caddo and Bossier parishes on the schedule. 

Shreve starts it all against rival Loyola Prep with the winner taking the lead in the series that is even at 3-3. Next is Calvary Baptist, which finished 9-3 a year ago after falling in the state quarterfinals of the Select Division III playoff bracket. The Gators then square off against Non-Select Division III state runner-up Union Parish (12-2). 

Byrd starts the seven-game district slate at home with the big rivalry game against the Yellow Jackets before the Gators welcome Parkway to Lee Hedges Stadium. Both of those schools tied for third in the district last season at 4-3. Shreve will cross the river into Bossier City to play at Airline and then hit I-49 to face Natchitoches Central. The Gators will be the visiting team when they play Southwood at Lee Hedges, then host Benton ahead of finishing the season at Haughton.
