The Shreveport Mavericks sputtered a bit on Sunday but pulled themselves together in the second half to trample the visiting Little Rock Lightning 120-97 in The Basketball League play at Centenary’s Gold Dome.
The Mavericks, coming off a loss on the road to Potawatomi Friday that snapped a six-game win streak, outscored the Lightning 79-52 in the second half to run their record to 7-2 on the season.
Tyrone Jordan led Shreveport with 30 points, Paul Parks added 26 and Jay Hedgeman contributed 21 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Big-man Bilal Richardson hit for 15 points, snagged seven rebounds and blocked four Little Rock shots. Point guard PJ Meyers and Parks both had five assists.
Percell Washington led six Little Rock players in double figures with 18 points.
Shreveport returns to action at the Gold Dome Tuesday against the Pearland Texas Warriors at 7:05 p.m.
