Calvary Baptist is making its fourth straight appearance to the LHSAA’s Marsh Madness boys’ basketball tournament and has hopes of gaining its first state championship after three runner-up finishes.

The third-seeded Cavaliers (24-5) go up against 10th seed Catholic-New Iberia (20-9) at 4:45 today in the Select Division III semifinals at Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles.

Bossier is making its 15th appearance in the state tournament — the most of any Shreveport-Bossier school. The Bearkats (22-10), seeded No. 4 in Non-Select Division II, will play top-seeded Wossman (30-4) at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Bossier beat Plaquemine 43-40 Friday night in the quarterfinals.

Huntington (24-8), making a return trip to Marsh Madness and fifth overall, also faces a top seed in Scotlandville (31-3) in Select Division I on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Huntington held off Southwood in a tight quarterfinal battle Friday night, 48-44, to advance.

Championship games are Friday and Saturday. All tournament games will be live streamed on a pay-per-view or subscription basis on NFHSNetwork.org.
