Eleven of the 21 local prep soccer teams participating in the LHSAA state playoffs survived the first round of games and advanced to second-round matches this week.
Making it out of the first round on the girls’ side were Division I No. 3 Captain Shreve (26-1-4) and No. 4 Byrd (18-6-5); in Division II, No. 4 Caddo Magnet (17-9-0) and No. 8 Parkway (13-7-1) and in Division IV, top-seed Loyola (15-5-4), the defending state champion.
Boys’ teams advancing included Division I No. 16 Captain Shreve (13-7-3), Division II No. 9 Caddo Magnet (12-6-2) and No. 14 Parkway (13-7-1), Division III No. 2 Bossier (20-2-2) and in Division IV No. 13 Loyola (11-11-1) and No. 19 Evangel (8-7-4).
