Benton receiver Pearce Russell and Parkway running back Jaylan White and kicker Aeron Burrell have been named to the first team of the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 5A All-State football team.
Russell finished his senior season as one of the leading receivers in the state with 1,556 yards and 20 touchdowns for the Tigers.
White ran for 1,519 yards on 167 carries for a 9.1 average per carry and 14 touchdowns for the Panthers. He added 493 yards receiving on 36 catches and six scores. White was the Shreveport-Bossier Journal’s All-Metro Offensive Player of the Year.
Burrell, one of the top Class of 2024 recruits in the country, made 34 of 37 PATs and eight field goals that included a 50-yard game-winner against Haughton and a parish-record 52 yarder against Red River. Of his 51 kickoffs, 49 were touchbacks.
Another 15 local players were honorable mention choices on the All-State squad.
