Greedy Williams returns to practice, could play Sunday

By ROY LANG III, Journal Sports

Finally, some good news for Greedy Williams. The former Calvary and LSU star was activated off the injured list (hamstring) and practiced Wednesday. It’s possible he could make his season debut this week.

“I’ve just been in the film room learning all I can,” Williams told reporters Wednesday. “I’m going to give it a try and see how I feel.”

The Cleveland cornerback is a former second-round draft pick. His brother, Rodarius, has also been on IR this season (knee), but his return should come soon, too.

LOCAL NFL STARS: 2022 Week 4

Terrace Marshall Jr., Carolina (22, WR, Parkway)

Another coach’s decision (healthy scratch) in Week 4 in what must be an extremely frustrating season for Marshall.

Israel Mukuamu, Dallas (22, S, Parkway)

Another career high in snaps (38 percent) on defense. He made six tackles against Washington on Sunday and collected a quarterback hit.

Dak Prescott, Dallas (29, QB, Haughton)

It looks like Week 6 is the target for a return to action for Prescott, who has been out since leaving late in the season opener due to a broken thumb.

Robert Rochell, Los Angeles Rams (24, DB, Fair Park)

Played just three snaps on defense at San Francisco on Monday night, but did record a tackle.

L’Jarius Sneed, Kansas City (25, DB, Minden)

His terrific season continued with his third sack of the season. It came against Tom Brady on Sunday night and was part of a performance than included nine tackles and a forced fumble. Quarterbacks have found some success through Sneed’s way this season, completing 23 of 31 throws for 250 yards an a TD.

Marquez Stevenson, Buffalo (23, WR, Northwood)

Still on injured reserve after foot surgery without a timetable to return.

Trent Taylor, Cincinnati (28, WR, Evangel)

Played just two snaps on offense and doesn’t have a target this season. However, he made the most of his lone punt return (23 yards) against the Dolphins in primetime.

Jerry Tillery, Los Angeles Chargers (25, DL, Evangel)

His snap percentage has increased in three straight weeks. Played in 46 percent of the Chargers’ defensive snaps against Houston and recorded his first sack of the season.

Ar’Darius Washington, Baltimore (22, S, Evangel)

On the Ravens’ practice squad.

Devin White, Tampa Bay (24, LB, North Webster)

Tied a season high with 11 tackles (including a tackle for loss) against Kansas City on Sunday night. Added a quarterback hit.

Tre’Davious White, Buffalo (27, DB, Green Oaks)

On the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Greedy Williams, Cleveland (24, DB, Calvary)

Finally some good news, covered above.

Rodarius Williams, New York Giants (25, DB, Calvary)

Eligible to be activated from injured reserve this week after surgery for a bone spur in his knee. His return seems imminent.

Brandon Wilson, Cincinnati (28, DB, Calvary Baptist)

On the PUP list.

Donovan Wilson, Dallas Cowboys (27, S, Woodlawn)

He’s having such a good season, there are folks mentioning the Pro Bowl nearly one-quarter of the way through the season. Posted nine tackles against Washington and his fourth quarterback hit of the season Sunday.
