There’s no place like home, is there?

JOURNAL STAFF

Each week this fall the Shreveport Bossier Journal will feature a question we ask all the local high school football coaches, and their answers will run each Wednesday.

This week’s question:

If your regular home stadium was unavailable, where would you want to play your home games and why?

Austin Brown, Northwood High School

“Nothing better than Jerry Burton in Blanchard on a Friday night. But if we had to go someplace else, I’d choose Bossier High because Coach (D’Aumante) Johnson and (principal David) Thrash are good people.”

Justin Scogin, Airline High School

“Independence Stadium. Size, allure.”

Jason Brotherton, Haughton High School

“Airline. They have the most parking.”

Reynolds Moore, Benton High School

“One of the historic fields in New Orleans … maybe Tad Gormley or Behrman Stadium. We played Karr at Behrman in the (state) quarterfinals a few years ago. It was a very unique place to play. It has always stood out to me.”

Coy Brotherton, Parkway High School

“Bossier High. The downtown atmosphere is cool and it’s close to our school.”

Chadwick Lewis, Green Oaks High School

“Independence Stadium or Lee Hedges Stadium because of the turf. No mud!”

Jesse Esters III, Southwood High School

“9000 WALKER ROAD.” (Southwood has never had a home field at its 9000 Walker Road campus in Shreveport. Never.)
