District competition begins for 1-5A and 1-4A teams this week and ups the ante on the push to win a district championship.

Captain Shreve plays Byrd in a 1-5A opener that is a big rivalry game but also big in terms of playoff seedings. Both teams want to stay undefeated. Parkway plays at Haughton and Airline is at Benton.

Huntington is at Northwood to start 1-4A competition. Both teams have played tough non-district games to get ready for the grind of the district season. North DeSoto, who has started the season 3-0 for the first time since 2018, is at Minden, Bossier plays Evangel and BTW faces Woodlawn in other matchups of interest.
