Dak Prescott’s right hand took a beating in the Dallas Cowboys’ opener against Tampa Bay on Sunday night. The former Haughton star ultimately left the game with a broken bone. He had surgery and is expected to miss several games.
Overall, it’s a rough start for the locals. Five of our 15 players began the season on an injured list, Prescott is expected to miss several weeks and a few others saw little or no playing time in Week 1.
It wasn’t all bad in Week 1 – especially in the 2022 Sunday night debut. Buccaneers linebacker Devin White (North Webster) picked up a pair of sacks against Dallas, while Cowboys’ safety Donovan Wilson (Woodlawn) intercepted Tom Brady.

Tumultuous start to his NFL career continued when he was placed on the injured reserved list (hamstring) prior to Sunday’s opener.
Rodarius Williams, New York Giants (25, DB, Calvary)
Like his brother, LeeLee (IR) will miss at least the first four games of the 2022 regular season as a member.
