Rain-soaked fields at North Caddo and Northwood have forced officials to move jamborees scheduled to be played at those two schools to turf fields at Independence Stadium and Loyola’s Messmer Stadium.
Northwood was to host Booker T. Washington and Southwood in a three-way jamboree but moved it to Messmer. BTW will tee it up with Northwood beginning at 6 p.m. before taking on Southwood in the second game and the evening’s action will culminate with Northwood and Southwood.
North Caddo was set to entertain Green Oaks in Vivian on Thursday but will now be a part of the jamboree that was scheduled between Huntington and Woodlawn on Friday at Independence Stadium. Woodlawn and Huntington’s junior varsity will start it all at 6 p.m. with Green Oaks and North Caddo varsity following. Woodlawn’s varsity will play Huntington’s to wrap up the night’s action.
This makes the jamboree between Captain Shreve and Byrd the only action on Thursday night at Independence Stadium. The freshmen will start things at 5 p.m. with the junior varsity and varsity following.
The Bossier Lions Club jamboree is still on for the turf at Airline’s M.D. Ray Field. The Vikings and Benton Tigers will kick off at 5:45 followed by Bossier and Plain Dealing and 1-5A foes Parkway and Haughton finishing things.
Calvary will host Union Parish at Jerry Barker Stadium and Loyola will travel to play Natchitoches Central at Northwestern State’s Turpin Stadium.
