Bossier has moved back up a classification for the next two years and will be playing a District 1-4A schedule once again after a two-year hiatus.
The Bearkats, who will be led by head coach Deaumante Johnson in his second season, will start the season against North Caddo, one of their 1-3A opponents of the last two years. They have played the Titans 29 times dating back to 1955 and played Mooringsport 11 times before then. Mooringsport was one of six schools merged to create North Caddo when it opened in 1955.
Bossier will welcome Glenbrook of Minden to Memorial Stadium for its season opener in week two. It will be the first meeting between the schools as the Apaches, under former Parkway and Minden coach David Feaster, are competing in their second season in the LHSAA.
The Bearkats will help parish-rival Parkway break in a new playing surface at Preston Crownover Stadium the third week of the season. It will be the first meeting of these two schools since 2010, the last of 41 straight seasons of playing each other that started in 1970.
Bossier hits the 1-4A schedule head-on with games at Evangel and then hosting Northwood. The Bearkats continue to alternate games at home and on the road by going to Minden before hosting BTW. It’s back on the road to Woodlawn, at home against North DeSoto and on the road to Huntington.
