Shreve Memorial Library is joining libraries and schools across the country to “Read for a Better World” and participating in Beanstack’s Fifth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, sponsored by Lerner Publishing Group. This year’s challenge encourages readers of all ages to explore diversity, empathy, and action through literature. As part of the challenge, Edutech startup Beanstack and Lerner Publishing Group is offering libraries and public schools free access to all of the eBooks needed for the challenge. In addition, Lerner Publishing Group will award book collections, signed books, and virtual author visits to the winning libraries and schools.
Shreve Memorial Library patrons can join the Winter Reading Challenge signing up and logging book titles on Beanstack. Beanstack, the software platform created by Zoobean, is the number one choice for reading challenges among librarians and readers alike. The web and mobile apps make it easy for administrators to set up and manage challenges, and even easier for more than six million readers on the platform to log and track their reading. In addition, Beanstack awards digital badges to users for completing reading goals and allows users to add friends to make challenges fun. In tandem with Winter Reading, Beanstack will officially launch Reading List Challenges – a new feature where readers can log reading for challenge-specific books and earn badges along the way.
Participants are asked to read three books during the month of January to contribute to Shreve Memorial Library’s overall winter reading total. Readers will have unlimited access to Lerner published book titles for the duration of the challenge, directly in the Beanstack web and mobile apps, giving readers instant access to quality titles with no holds, wait times, or borrowing limits. Readers will be able to select from over a dozen age-appropriate books on varying topics that align with this year’s Winter Reading theme, “Read for a Better World.”
The deadline for completing the challenge is Monday, January 31. To sign up, visit https://shreve-lib.beanstack.org/reader365.
