A domestic dispute between roommates escalated into a dangerous situation involving a firearm, leading to an arrest by the Shreveport Police Department.
According to police, officers were contacted at the department’s West Substation in the 5200 block of Monkhouse Drive after a victim reported being threatened during an argument at a residence on Waters Place.
Authorities said the dispute, which reportedly began over cleaning, escalated when the suspect, identified as Lannon Ford, allegedly armed himself with a handgun and threatened the victim.
Witnesses corroborated the victim’s account, and officers took Ford into custody without further incident. The firearm was recovered at the scene.
Ford was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.
Police noted that while disagreements can occur, introducing a weapon significantly increases the risk of harm and emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts without violence.
