The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference postseason is in sight for Centenary’s softball and baseball teams, with the Ladies at home today and Saturday in a pivotal series that is their last home action of the spring.

The Ladies (14-15, 12-9 SCAC)  host a weekend series against McMurry at the Centenary Softball Complex.

The Ladies and War Hawks (13-16-1, 12-12 SCAC) will play today at 4 in a doubleheader and a single game at noon Saturday with the Senior Day ceremony after the third game.

The 2026 SCAC Softball Tournament will be held May 1-3 in Abilene, Texas and hosted by McMurry. The top six teams in the standings at the conclusion of the regular season qualify for the event. The Ladies are in fourth place in the standings while the War Hawks are fifth.

Centenary wants to rebound from getting swept at home last weekend by the nationally-ranked Texas Lutheran Bulldogs.

The Ladies lost the series opener 9-1 last Thursday and were swept in a twinbill on Friday, falling 13-0 in five innings in Game 1 and 5-0 in the second contest.

TLU entered the series ranked fifth in the NFCA/GoRout Division III Top 25 Softball Coaches Poll and improved to 27-3 overall and 19-1 in SCAC play.

BASEBALL: The Diamond Gents are on the road again this weekend with momentum after they won their series last weekend on the road over the nationally-ranked Texas Lutheran Bulldogs in Seguin, Texas.

Centenary (15-16, 10-11 SCAC) swept a doubleheader last Thursday, winning the opener 5-4 by taking the lead in the top of the ninth and getting a game-ending left field-to-catcher double play. The Gents came back from an early deficit to win 10-6 in the nightcap.

TLU salvaged the series finale last Friday, 7-5. The Bulldogs are ranked 20th in the latest D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 poll and 24th in the ABCA NCAA Division III Baseball Coaches Poll and lead the conference.

This weekend, Centenary travels for a three-game series against McMurry in Abilene, Texas. The War Hawks are 13-15 overall and 11-11 in league play.

The 2026 SCAC Baseball Tournament will be held at The Depot at Cleburne Station in Cleburne, Texas. The double-elimination tournament will begin on April 30 and will include six teams. The Diamond Gents are in eighth place in the conference standings but just a half game behind McMurry for the final spot.

MEN’S GOLF: The Gents will return to the course Monday for the West Region Invitational held at White Bluff Golf Resort in Whitney, Texas.

The Gents finished 10th in their annual home tournament, the Hal Sutton Invitational, at The Golf Club at Stonebridge on March 18 in their most recent action.

Centenary finished at 80-over par 656 and were led by a sixth-place tie by junior Aubrey Snell, a former Parkway High School star. The top 10 finish was Snell’s fourth of the season.
