Caddo Parish honors local film professional with key to the parish

The Caddo Parish Commission recently recognized Dother Sykes IV for his achievements in the film and television industry, highlighting his work as a stunt performer, actor, and creative professional.

Officials said Sykes has represented the Caddo community on a national stage through a growing body of work that includes nearly 30 film and television projects. His credits include roles in productions such as Civil War, 12 Years a Slave, The Walking Dead, and Queen & Slim.

Sykes was also part of the stunt ensemble for the film Sinners, which received multiple Academy Award nominations, won several Oscars, and earned recognition from the NAACP Image Awards.

In honor of his accomplishments, the commission presented Sykes with a Key to Caddo Parish, making him only the 10th individual to receive the distinction.
