Crime Stoppers tip leads to habitual theft charge in Shreveport Walmart case

With the assistance of a Crime Stoppers tip, the suspect involved in multiple thefts at the Walmart located at 1645 E. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop has been positively identified as Andrew James Harvey, a white male.

The original offenses occurred on two separate dates in June and July, when Harvey allegedly entered the business, selected merchandise, proceeded to the self-checkout area, and pretended to complete his purchase before exiting the store without paying. These actions resulted in a total loss of nearly $1,000 in merchandise. The incidents were reported by Walmart Asset Protection, and investigators determined the same offender was responsible in both cases.

Harvey is currently being housed at the Bossier Maximum Security Facility for a similar theft committed at the Minden Walmart on September 2, 2025.

Further investigation revealed Harvey has two prior theft convictions. As a result, a warrant has been submitted for one count of Habitual Theft related to the Shreveport incidents.

The Shreveport Police Department thanks the public and Crime Stoppers for their assistance in identifying the suspect and helping bring this case to a resolution.
