From July 2 through July 6, the Shreveport Police Department’s Traffic Unit will conduct a citywide saturation operation in support of the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.
During this period, patrols will be increased throughout the city with a focused effort on identifying and
arresting impaired drivers. These enhanced enforcement efforts are part of Shreveport’s ongoing mission to reduce traffic-related fatalities and keep the roadways safe.
Under the leadership of Chief Wayne Smith, the department remains committed to doing everything possible to lower the city’s traffic fatality rate. Over the past two years, the Shreveport Police Department’s DWI Unit has led the state in DWI arrests by a municipal agency — earning a reputation for being among the most proactive in Louisiana.
“If you choose to drive drunk,” the department warns, “there’s a good chance you’ll meet our DWI unit.”
