A woman is in custody following an arson incident that occurred on Dec. 31 at around 1:54pm. 

Shreveport Police Department officers responded to a fire call at 1626 Rex Street. Witnesses, including an Uber driver, reported seeing Sherri Rule (W/F, DOB: 8/27/67) pouring gasoline on the home and setting it on fire. The Shreveport Fire Department and its investigators were immediately notified to address the scene.

SPD officers located Rule in the 500 block of Boulevard. During a search incident to her arrest, officers discovered a suspected narcotics pipe concealed in her clothing.

The motive for this act is currently unknown, and the investigation remains ongoing. Sherri Rule has been arrested and charged with Arson, with additional charges pending further investigation.
