Andy’s Frozen Custard in Bossier City is so popular, there will soon be a Shreveport location.

The Shreveport-Bossier Journal has learned Andy’s is adding a second area store. Construction is in the early stages at the corner of Youree Drive and Bellmead Street, just north of Youree Drive Middle School. Andy’s is expected to open in early May.

“I think (the Bossier store) captures some of the Shreveport business when they’re passing by, or it may be an occasional destination,” Johnathon Cavallo, Director of Operations for East Texas Boys Custard, LLC, told the Journal. But when it goes from a 15-minute drive to a five-minute drive — the big thing with Bossier City is Airline Drive. This location on Youree Drive is off the main strip . . . . You can get off Youree to a less busier part. It’s not a hassle. I think the in-and-out is really going to be convenient and easy.”

Wyatt and Wayne Adams own East Texas Boys Custard, which has nine Andy’s locations in Louisiana and Texas (Texarkana, Longview). The home office is in Bossier City.

Andy’s opened on Airline Drive in January 2020. “That store consistently does $1.5 million in sales, which is exactly what you want,” Cavallo said. It is not unusual to see the drive-thru line wrapped around the building, especially in the summer. Andy’s also offers walk-up service.

According to its website, Andy’s offers a variety of custard, from vanilla or chocolate cones, to seasonal favorites like Pumpkin Pie Concretes and Strawberry Shortcake Sundaes.
