Shreveport man wanted in stolen check and identity theft investigation

A Shreveport-Caddo Financial Crimes Task Force investigation has led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Sean Warren in connection with a stolen check and identity theft case.

According to Caddo-Shreveport Crime Stoppers, the investigation began after a local business reported that a box of company checks had been stolen from its mailbox in early April 2026. Detectives later determined that multiple stolen checks were allegedly negotiated or presented for payment at various financial institutions and retail locations across the area, resulting in financial losses.

Investigators said surveillance footage, photographs, and additional evidence identified a suspect seen using the stolen checks during several transactions. During one attempted transaction, the suspect allegedly presented another individual’s Louisiana driver’s license as identification. Authorities confirmed that the person whose identification was used was not involved in the offenses.

Based on the findings, investigators obtained an arrest warrant charging Sean Warren with theft and identity theft under Louisiana law.

Authorities are reminding residents and business owners to monitor financial accounts closely, secure incoming mail, and report any suspicious activity involving checks or personal financial information.

Anyone with information regarding Warren’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373. Tips may be submitted anonymously.
