Several Bossier Parish educators are participating this week in the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) Summer Institute in Indianapolis, where they are engaging in professional development focused on instructional improvement and leadership growth.
According to Bossier Schools, the participating educators are taking part in collaborative sessions and strategic planning designed to strengthen classroom instruction, build leadership capacity, and improve student outcomes ahead of the 2026–27 school year.
Those attending include Instructional Coach Kim Gray of W.T. Lewis; Principal Amber Beach of Princeton; Principal Shuntay Banks of W.T. Lewis; Principal Christy Williams of Kingston; teacher Jennelle Lumives of W.T. Lewis; and Assistant Principal Angie Reager of W.T. Lewis.
District officials said the experience is intended to support continued growth not only within individual schools, but across Bossier Parish as participants bring back strategies and insights to share with colleagues.
Bossier Schools emphasized that ongoing professional learning opportunities like the NIET Institute help ensure high-quality teaching and learning for all students across the district.
