Lane, exit ramp closures: I-220, I-20

A pair of projects by the state Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will see temporary lane and exit ramp closures affecting traffic on I-220 and I-20.

Beginning today, the I-220 westbound bridge over Red River in Bossier Parish will be reduced to one lane for routine bridge inspection. This lane closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Restrictions/Permits: Vehicles 12 feet wide or smaller will be allowed to pass through the bridge inspection zone. All larger vehicles will need to detour.

On Thursday, July 20 the I-20 eastbound to I-220 westbound ramp (Racetrack exit 26) in Bossier Parish will be closed, also for routine bridge inspection. Ramp closure is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This ramp is located approximately 2.4 miles east of LA 782-2 (Industrial Drive).

Restrictions/Permits: Total ramp closure at the specified location. All vehicles must detour. Alternate route: Exit 23 (Industrial Drive) to U.S. Hwy. 80 to I-220.

Motorists are reminded to proceed with caution in work areas and to be on the lookout for crews and equipment.
