Calvary Baptist infielder DJ Lynch was named the Outstanding Player on the Louisiana Sports Writers Class 2A Softball Team after helping lead her Lady Cavaliers to a second straight state championship. 

Lynch hammered out 19 home runs, carried a .529 batting average, drove in 45 runs and scored 61 runs. The Lady Cavaliers finished the season 26-9 while capturing the Select Division III state title.  

She was joined on the team by three teammates, including freshman pitcher Kynzee Anderson who struck out 324 in 191 1/3 innings and a recorded a 22-9 record in the circle. Junior infielder Ramsey Walker hit 21 home runs and batted .500 on the season. Senior Tavia Leadon hit .516 with 13 home runs and 53 RBIs was named as a utility player.
