Parkway High School Principal Jeremiah Williams announced Thursday that Aaron Wicklund has been named the school’s new head baseball coach.
Wicklund will be taking over for Brian Harvey, who spent the 2022 season as the interim head coach.
“Coach Wicklund has been a long time assistant coach at Captain Shreve High School and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him,” said Williams. “Coach Wicklund has served with two of the best mentors and men that I know in Captain Shreve head coach Todd Sharp and previous Captain Shreve and Parkway head coach Ronnie Coker.”
Wicklund comes to Parkway after spending the past seven years as an assistant football and baseball coach at Captain Shreve amid 22 years coaching and teaching in the Caddo Parish School System. He graduated from Centenary College in 2000 after playing baseball for the Gents in 1998 and 1999.
“We are excited about coach Wicklund’s passion and enthusiasm for the game and we look forward to his presence within our baseball program and on our campus,” said Williams.
Willliams said Harvey will remain at the school and continue to serve the team in an assistant coach capacity.
