A change in the home venue didn’t stop the Shreveport Mavericks from continuing to dominate its The Basketball League opponents Wednesday night in a 146-122 win over Pearland at the Lakeside Park Community Center.

Wednesday night’s game was a make-up game that was scheduled to be played in Pearland earlier in the season.  With the last-minute change in the schedule the Mavericks’ usual home site — the Centenary Gold Dome – wasn’t available because of graduation preparations.

Shreveport and Pearland battled for three quarters before the Mavs pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the visitors 41-29.

Paul Parks led all scorers for the Mavericks with 41 points, his second highest total of the season. Jay Hedgeman totaled 26, Tyrone Jordan had 19, Kadavion Evans added 16 and point guard PJ Meyers poured in 13.

The win gives the Mavericks a 7-1 record at home and improves their overall mark to 13-3.

Gary Cox led Pearland with 33 points and Chase Cobb added 26.

Shreveport is on the road at Little Rock Friday and Rockwall on Sunday.
