Haughton was on the road for the second LHSAA softball playoff game in-a-row but the Lady Bucs were not able to come up with another upset as Sam Houston put an end to their season with a 14-1 win Tuesday in Lake Charles.
The Lady Bucs, ranked No. 19 in Non-Select Division I bracket, were no match for the No. 3-ranked Lady Broncos. Haughton (16-12) only managed two hits, a Kylie Small bunt single followed by an Ariana Mathews double in the fourth inning. The Bucs got their only run when Ella Vickers scored Small on a ground out.
Sam Houston improved its record to 29-2 and will play the winner of Airline-Walker in the quarterfinals.
