Eleven local schools have been placed in LHSAA softball playoff brackets with two-time defending state champion Calvary Baptist leading the way as the top-seeded team in Select Division III.

The Lady Cavaliers have won the last two Division IV titles and previously won Division III in 2017 and Class 2A in 2016. All four of those titles were as the No. 1 seed. The top ranking gave them a bye in the first round. Calvary will host a second-round game next week.

Four of the local teams will have home games in the first round and for Caddo Magnet it is the first time in the school’s history. The Lady Mustangs, seeded No. 16, made the playoffs for the first time since 2011 and will host No. 17 Ben Franklin in the Select Division II bracket.

Other teams with home games include Airline, 11th in Non-Select Division I, against No. 22 Neville, and Captain Shreve, a No. 12 seed in Select Division I, hosting No. 21 Karr. Northwood is the No. 13 seed in the same bracket and hosts No. 20 West Jefferson. No. 14 Loyola will entertain No. 19 Episcopal in Select Division III.
