LSUS, riding an 11-game win streak, moved up two spots to No. 2 in the latest NAIA baseball coaches Top 25 poll, its highest ranking in 11 years.

The Pilots sport a 30-6 overall record and lead the Red River Athletic Conference with an 18-3 mark after sweeping second-place Louisiana Christian (15-6), who was receiving votes in the previous poll.

LSUS defeated Southwestern Assemblies of God 11-1 in eight innings Tuesday as Ryan Major and AJ Fritz both had a pair of doubles to go along with a single and Vantrel Reed hit a home run in going 2-for-3.

The Pilots used six pitchers to limit SAGU to seven hits and one run, walked none and struck out nine. Draven Zeigler started on the mound and worked four innings, allowing four hits, one run, and struck out four to get the win.

SAGU is ranked 24 in the latest poll with a 26-11 record.

Southeastern (Fla.) received all 20 first-place votes to remain ranked No. 1 in the poll.

The Pilots finished third in last year’s NAIA World Series.
