Could Trent Taylor be finding his groove with the Cincinnati Bengals? He was a jack of all trades in Week 9 against Carolina. He carried the ball for the first time this season (three times for 18 yards), hauled in a season-high two passes for 14 yards, returned kicks for the first time this season (2 for 15 yards) and added 52 yards on three punt returns.
The former Evangel and Louisiana Tech star played 35 percent of the Bengals’ offensive snaps. His previous high this season had been 19 snaps.
The news in Los Angeles wasn’t as good for another former Eagle. Jerry Tillery, a former first-round pick of the Los Angeles Chargers, was waived by the team. Coach Brandon Staley cited “competing visions.”
Tillery did not play more than half the defensive snaps in any game this season. The Notre Dame product can be claimed by another team in the league beginning Monday.
