Districts that began play the fourth week of the season – 1-5A, 1-4A – have reached the midway point of their league seasons and the teams expected to be at the top have slightly separated themselves from the others.

A big 1-5A battle will take place at Lee Hedges Stadium Thursday when Airline (4-3 overall), the district leader at 4-0, will visit Byrd (5-2, 2-2) who knocked off previously unbeaten Parkway. Friday’s games have the Panthers (6-1, 3-1), now in a second-place tie with Benton, hosting Natchitoches Central (3-4, 2-2), who picked up a big win over Captain Shreve. The Tigers (4-3, 3-1) will also be on the road in another big game with Haughton (4-3, 2-2). Captain Shreve (3-4, 0-4) has a homecoming date with Southwood (0-7, 0-4).

The big game in 1-4A has the two remaining undefeated teams in the district squaring off in Stonewall as Huntington (5-2, 4-0) travels to play North DeSoto (7-0, 4-0). Northwood (5-2, 3-1) will be looking to move into a tie for second place with a win at Booker T. Washington (1-6, 1-3). Minden (2-5, 1-3) will host Evangel (3-4, 2-2) and Bossier (0-7, 0-4) faces Woodlawn (2-5, 1-3) at Independence Stadium.
