Centenary freshman pitcher Tyler Herrera was named the Pitcher of the Year and Freshman of the Year in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference by the league coaches.
Herrera was joined on the SCAC All-Conference first team by three of his teammates. Seniors Preston Ludwick at first base and Tyler Erickson, second base along with relief pitcher junior Parker Primeaux were all chosen to the first unit.
Herrera is a lefthander who led the conference in ERA at 1.11 and was 6-0 with two complete games. In 57 innings, he allowed just seven earned runs and struck out 52. He is the second straight Gent to be named Pitcher of the Year after Preston Ludwick earned the same honor last year.
Centenary senior outfielder Luke Royle was named to the second team.
