Shreveport Mavericks fans will have to make the trip to Waco on Saturday if they want to get their weekly dose of action in The Basketball League.
The Mavericks will take on the Royals Saturday afternoon at 5, riding a three-game win streak after taking all three games they played last week in the Gold Dome at Centenary.
In its matchups with Waco, Shreveport has won both at home (146-106) and at Waco (104-79) this season after winning all four games last season.
Shreveport is currently tied for first in the Central Division of the TBL with Enid (Oklahoma) at 13-3. Dallas is a half-game back at 12-3 and Potawatomi (Oklahoma) is next at 12-4. Waco will bring a 2-13 record into Saturday’s game.
Paul Parks continues to lead the SMAVS in scoring at 24.8 points per game and also averages three assists and six rebounds. Paul Harrison is next in scoring at 18.8 and leads the team in rebounding, averaging 9.2 a game. Point guard PJ Meyers is fifth in the league averaging 6.9 assists a game.
The Royals are led in scoring by CJ Cater Jr. at 22.2 points per game and he averages giving out four assists a game. Demetrius Smith leads the team in rebounding at 8.8 per game and is second in scoring at 14.6 points per contest.
Shreveport will return home for a big matchup with the Dallas Skyline on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. at Centenary’s Gold Dome.
