Northwood pitcher Cameron Clark pitched a one-hit, three-inning shutout in the Lady Falcons’ 15-0 Class 4A first-round playoff defeat of New Orleans Military & Maritime Monday in Blanchard.
Clark needed only 40 pitches in striking out six in her three innings of work.
Hailey McKnight led the way at the plate for the Lady Falcons with three hits that included a double, while she scored three runs and drove in two. Emily Balentine drove in three, while Lilly Cooper and Makayla Nunnery both had two RBI for Northwood (17-10).
It was the Lady Falcons’ first playoff win since 2018, when they were a No. 7 seed and defeated Riverdale 3-0.
PINEVILLE 15, PARKWAY 0: The Lady Panthers’ season ended in Pineville, losing to the top-ranked Lady Rebels in three innings. Chloe Larry had both of Parkway’s hits in the game as it finished the season 9-14.
NORTH VERMILION 15, HUNTINGTON 0: The Lady Raiders fell on the road to the 13th seeded Lady Patriots in three innings.
WALKER 15, SOUTHWOOD 0: At Walker, the Lady Cowboys’ season came to an end to the third-seeded Lady Wildcats in three innings.
