BPCC defeats Centenary JV in extra-inning slugfest

Bossier Parish Community College scored three runs in the 10th inning to pick up an 11-9 baseball win over Centenary’s junior varsity Monday at Shehee Stadium.

Cole Ketzner hit a three-run home run in the 10th, his second long ball of the night, as the biggest of the Cavaliers’ 13 hits.

Ketzner finished the game 3-for-3 with five RBI, Alejandro Cazoria was 3-for-4, scored three runs and drove in two for BPCC. Connor Crowson had two hits and Gavin Baird doubled, scored three runs and drove in two.

BPCC, now 23-11-1, will return to Region XIV play Wednesday when it travels to Mount Pleasant, Texas to play Northeast Texas Community College.

ULM 15, SFA 6: At Nacogdoches, the Warhawks piled up 20 hits to conclude a four-game Texas road swing at Jaycees Field. Chase DeJean had a career-high four hits, including a solo home run, with two RBI while Carson Jones added a career-high three hits that included a 2-run homer and an RBI triple to pace ULM (10-16-1).

The Warhawks were coming off a weekend series at UT Arlington and had lost two of the previous three games.

Tylor Jans (1-3) got the win throwing a career-high six innings, allowing three runs on five hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

LOUISIANA TECH VS. UL LAFAYETTE: Louisiana Tech is back home facing off with UL-Lafayette in a two-game college baseball series tonight and Wednesday, beginning a stretch when the Bulldogs are set to play five games in the next six days in Ruston.

After the Ragin’ Cajuns depart tomorrow night, Rice comes to town for a Conference USA weekend series beginning Friday.

The Bulldogs (19-9) and Cajuns (14-13) meet at 6 p.m. tonight and tomorrow evening at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
