PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Sunday was fun day for the Bossier Parish softball team.
The Lady Cavs snapped a three-game loss skein with a doubleheader run-rule sweep of the Lamar State-Port Arthur Seahawks, 10-0 and 13-1.
Both games ended earlier than scheduled, getting BPCC home earlier, with the first going 5 innings and the second 6 after an 8-run sixth inning.
Primrose Aholelei pitched a 1-hit shutout in the first game, striking out 13 – all but two outs. She also was 3-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBIs. Frances Robinson cracked a home run and had 3 RBIs.
Robinson doubled and homered while going 4-for-4 in game two. Designated hitter Tuliliau Sosi took a break from her shortstop duties and was also 4-for-4 with a home run. Nicollette Blenker had a homer and double. The Lady Cavs crackd 17 hits in the getaway game.
BPCC is now 9-5.
